Plan a Group Outing

Visit a local petting farm or park where there are ducks.

Petting farm: Have the children identify the sound of farm animals. Acknowledge their listening skills and make them aware of how they listen by using their ears.
It is good to know how to use your ears for listening to Mom and Dad, too.

Duck pond: Don’t forget to bring bread so the children can feed the ducks. Ducks
can often be aggressive when feeding, so watch children closely during this event. Use your own discretion.

Dear Playgroups USA

Question: How can I become a Group Leader and what am I responsible for as a Group Leader?

Answer: As a Group Leader you are responsible for getting your playgroup started and keeping the flow of communication active. You will be the organizer and event planner for the group, at least until it is well established. Please see Becoming a Group Leader.

You are also responsible for recruiting members and spreading the word about your new playgroup. Playgroups USA will help direct members to your playgroup but as a Group Leader you should also help spread the word. See Group Leader Tips.
