ACTIVITY CORNER

There are so many fun and festive ideas for playgroup during the holidays. This is a great time to get creative and plan for a special playgroup themed playdate. One of our favorites is a playgroup cookie exchange.

Cookie Exchange:

Make cookies and choose one to bring to playgroup for the cookie exchange. Once the cookies have been collected, pick a number and then go in order to chose what cookie they would like to eat or take home with them. This is a great way to tach the children how to share, give and take turns.

MOMS PICKS

Do moms prefer shopping online or outings to the mall now that shopping online is so convenient and easy?

With the internet so readily available, one can shop without having to drag the kids to the store, wait out long lines, fight traffic or navigate through crowds. You can buy almost anything online and see product reviews and comparisons to help you get the best deal.

Some tips to shopping and purchasing online include: 1. Check out the stores size charts when buying clothing 2. Read the stores refund policies 3. Review the shipping information 4. Read all payment terms

The internet allows for successful shopping without the some of the stresses that go with it, but you should still be mindful of online store policies.

Happy holiday shopping!

DEAR PLAYGROUPS USA

Question: Where do I find the link for my playgroup so I can give it out or advertise it?

Answer: Your playgroup link can be found under the "About this Playgroup" section within your playgroup portal. The link we provide is for you to help others identify your playgroup when you invite them or when you are recruiting.

MOMS CHOICE ARTICLE

Many of us enjoy passing down childhood family traditions or sharing stories about them. A good time to start a holiday tradition is as soon as your little one is born.

Children love starting new things. Children don't have preconceived notions about proper ways to celebrate so creating new traditions are as much fun as the old ones you grew up with.

If your child is still a baby, include them in baking if this is one of your traditions. Just remember to keep them away from sharp objects and hot surfaces. They can sit in their bouncer or highchair, while you bake. Babies learn as they watch. You can talk them through the process, give them their own wooden spoon or spatula to play with, describe the sounds they hear, smell and taste. If they are ready for regular food let them sample some along the way if you like.

Don't forget to take pictures of each tradition so they can have something to pass down to generations to come.

If you have a favorite holiday tradition you would like to share with other parents, we would like to hear them!
